Our annual Specialty (all-Cavalier) shows are always the highlight of our year. There is something for everyone, whether you've ever attended a dog show or not.
Once again, our shows are being held at the Hyatt Regency Houston West (13210 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX). This is a fan-favorite hotel with easy unloading and loading and a large first-floor ballroom. A link for reservations will be posted here soon.
We'll be hosting two all-Cavalier shows back-to-back on Friday, August 22nd, 2025. We usually have one show, break for lunch, then commence the second show. We offer a puppy and young-dog Sweepstakes and have great raffles and prizes. And don't forget the after-party!
As always, our shows on Friday are bumpered with the Toy Club of Greater Houston's shows on Saturday and Sunday. This means exhibitors often have the opportunity for four Majors over the weekend.
As with any dog show, the point of the conformation classes is determination of the best Cavaliers to continue the breed—and nowhere is this point taken more seriously than at specialties. A class win at a specialty can be a high point of a dog person’s year, and a Best of Breed or Best in Sweepstakes is often a major achievement for a breeder or owner.
However, we welcome everyone to watch! You don't have to breed or show to join in. There is no better place to learn about your breed than at a Specialty Show, in particular the national specialty (“the National”), which is held annually by our breed’s national, or "parent" club--the American Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club, and this year it's on Cape Cod. It’s where dedicated fans of the breed meet together year after year, sharing their knowledge and passion and bringing their best dogs to compete.
Whether you’re a prospective owner researching a breed, a new owner, or a longtime owner, Specialty Shows like ours are your best opportunity spend time with others who share your love of Cavaliers.
The AKC asks that unless your dog is actually entered in the show that you please leave them at home. This is for liability and disease-control reasons.
Yes, absolutely. We're a tiny non-profit and run entirely by hard-working volunteers. We are always extremely grateful for our friends and volunteers, who help us make these events happen each year. We'll have a volunteer link up soon.
We also have ribbon and trophy sponsorships...anyone can make a donation and sponsor a class or award in honor or memoriam of a person or pet. These sponsorships help defray the significant costs involved in holding our shows, and the sponsorship links will be up soon.
